Most production errors don’t happen during manufacturing — they happen during preparation. A small ambiguity in a drawing, a missing fit, or an unclear weld sequence can easily cause costly delays. Fortunately, these issues are easy to prevent through early alignment between design and production. At Vormelijk Engineering, we make this a standard part of every project.
1) Collaborating before the first sheet is cut
We involve the manufacturer already during the design phase. This way, we immediately know which tolerances, bend angles, and material choices are practical to produce. It saves revisions and prevents last-minute improvisation on the shop floor.
2) Designing based on real production data
Instead of assumptions, we use the supplier’s actual machine capacities, tool radii, and weld spacing. This makes the design not only more accurate but also faster to produce.
3) Less discussion, more trust
By communicating clearly through 3D models, section views, and production plans, we eliminate noise between engineer and manufacturer. Everyone works from the same source of truth.
4) Coordination as an investment
An hour of discussion at the drawing table can save days in the factory. That investment pays for itself in peace of mind, quality, and predictable lead times.
Early alignment isn’t an extra step — it’s the foundation of every successful production process.
